Her family owned the Jackson Koehler Eagle Brewery established in 1847 in Erie Pennsylvania where her grandfather John Martin Magenau Jr. was the President and CEO before its demise in 1978. Jacobs was a performer since age of eight and attended Saturday classes in Pittsburgh Playhouse. Mt. Jacobs and leaving Lebanon High School to go to New York City, in 2000. In New York City, she joined in the Drama Division of Group 33. In 2004 she received an undergraduate degree.
